Two questions for you guys. What's your favorite place to get a pizza in Nashville? Also, what style is your favorite overall? When I say style it could be one city vs. another or just a different set of toppings you like.

My favorite type of pizza would be a thinner type crust like a NY style crust with, extra sauce, extra cheese, pepperoni, black olives, and mushrooms.

The best place I've ever had a pizza was at this place in Miami called, Steve's. They used brown sugar in the sauce instead of white sugar, it was something different I never had before, but tasted the best out of all the places I've ever been.

As far as here in Nashville I think Bellacino's out in Hermitage is the best I've tasted.

Never had authentic NY or Chicago pizza so I really can't compare those against the places I've ate. I know Pie In The Sky is supposed to be Nashville's authentic pizza, or am I wrong about that? It's pretty good too.

So, which pizza is king in Nashville? Which overall style is your favorite?

For delivery, I'd probably go with Jet's.

For sit down, I like Mafioza's.

Mellow Mushroom and Cool Springs Brewery are pretty good, too.

I like Five Points Pizza. You have to get the garlic knots if you go. Mafiozas is good also...a lot better if you get a whole pie than by the slice though.

Never tried Mafioza's. Gotta check that one out. I agree with Mellow Mushroom and Cool Springs Brewery, I like both of those places. As far as delivery yeah Jet's is good, I kinda like Domino's right now. Their crust is way better now that they changed up their menu the last few years.

Never heard of Five Points, is it a mom and pop place?

I'd also suggest Bella Napoli in Edgehill Village. Neapolitan style pizza cooked by a chef from Naples. Fantastic stuff.

Mellow Mushroom is a chain that you can find in a lot of large cities (mainly in the South East), but they're really good and Nashville has a location in West End. Their crust is tops.

I like Manny's House of Pizza downtown. I have heard Joey's House of Pizza in Brentwood is also really good, but I never get out there.

I've had Joey's a number of times, but sometimes it was inconsistent. The place is more or less "authentic"...certainly run by quite the stereotypical NYC Italian family. I guess for me the place lacks atmosphere. Aside from the very...curt service (which I don't mind so much -- think SoupNazi...it's actually kind of funny), it's just a strip mall pizza joint with some rather cheap kitschy decorations.

When they do it right, it's a great NY style pizza. But a few times I've had them overcook the crust...and not just slightly. Hard crust on a NY pizza is awful, because you can't fold it without it breaking.

I'm not saying "don't go there." But if you catch them on a bad day, it can be disappointing.

I'd drive the extra 10-15 minutes to Cool Springs for Cool Springs Brewery. The pizza is more like Mellow Mushroom (tons of fresh toppings, interesting combinations)...very consistent. I've yet to have less than a "pretty good" pizza. Plus they are, in my opinion, one of the better microbreweries in the area. Right up there with Blackstone.

I'm pretty picky about my crust and so far I like Five Points best. Manny's is ok. The place on Church @ 9th (diagonal from the YMCA) is my second fave. Didn't really like Jet. Bella Napoli is good.
