Do they exist? I'll be moving to Murfreesboro IF I get the amazon job, but at 11 an hour I couldn't really afford some of the places I've seen online. Most apartments I've found on google searches are 500 plus. So does anyone know of apartments for the more budget minded individual? Links to websites, etc? I appreciate it.

You'll need a roommate.

The only place you MAY find for 450 or less won't be a safe area.

Maybe Amazon has a housing office or a bulletin board for people looking for roommates? There will probably be a lot of people in the same boat. Good luck!

Yea, that is what I was afraid of. However my last job was in corrections and actually got a call from a friend that works at Rutherford County Sheriffs Department... Looks like I'll be back in town this week to put in an application for them. I'm thinking they pay a little more than amazon. Not really sure. But anyways, while I'm in town Im going to look around for weekly rentals at local hotels till I can find something more permanent. Either that or it'll be one heck of a commute!!

Thanks for the replies!!

Manchester Times - Classifieds

You might consider looking at Manchester, Tn. It is about 28 miles south of the new Amazon warehouse, all interstate driving. I have seen one br apartments listed for 300 dollars a month and there are a lot of other affordable rentals in town. Of course you would have to run a cost analysis first on gas/vehicle wear and tear. There is a very good chance many of your co-workers would live in Manchester so the opportunity for car pooling might exist.

I may look in to Manchester. I was hoping to get closer to Nashville though. Maybe Antioch, Smyrna, South Nashville and in between. Amazon may be on the back burner now. Working for the sheriffs department means more money and a higher level of spending on rent. not a huge jump, but maybe in the 500 to 600 range for a studio or 1 bedroom. SURELY M'boro has such a thing. I grew up in a college town in Cookeville Tn. It's a crazy jump because you can still get 1 br apts for 280 a months with cable and water paid. hahah.. You can really tell how fast M'boro is growing by the rental prices. But I love M'boro and I'm really excited about getting an chance to live there. Again, thanks for all the replies.
