Brentwood is an amazing area.

It's a growing city right between Franklin and Nashville that is mostly residential. It has VERY low crime, although occasionally it is a "target-rich environment" for thieves who steal stuff that people leave in their front seats.

I have two kids at Brentwood High. The experience has been great. The students come from families where college is the norm, and the academic and extracurricular opportunities seem endless. Many kids transfer to BHS from area private schools. My kids have never had an incident of anything remotely resembling bullying there.

BHS has the highest standardized test scores (average ACT 24.5) of any public high school in the state, and it offers the most AP classes of any local public high school.

There is another high school in the Brentwood city limits, Ravenwood High. It also has high test scores. You can use the search tab on the right of the main Nashville page to search for info on these schools.

I tried to include links to the school website, but their server appears to be down. You can search on your own at www.wcs.edu.

In January, the median home price in Brentwood was $627,639.

Can't speak to the high school but Williamson County schools are very strong. Brentwood seems to be a very safe area as well.

Just be aware that if schools are your focus, Brentwood addresses can span both Williamson and Davidson counties (the northern and eastern parts of Brentwood), so make sure when you look for housing that you know which school you are assigned to.

Another caution: Double check the zone of Williamson County real estate, too. I spoke with a family preparing to move here from the Midwest who desire a specific high school. They asked me if I am familiar with an area - the MLS listed the house in the zone of the high school they desired - but I knew that it was rezoned.

If a house for sale was listed for sale BEFORE the beginning of the 2011/2012 school year, the school zone on the MLS listing may not reflect all of the Williamson County rezoning.

Yes, anything listed as "Brentwood," even with a 37027 zip code, that is in Davidson County or zoned for Overton High is NOT Brentwood. It's Nashville. It only matters with regard to schools and property taxes, which are much higher in Nashville. See this previous thread:
