I am transferring to Franklin, TN. Will be working on Cool Springs Blvd in Franklin. I am looking for a safe and reasonably priced apartment. I was told Bellevue might be a good choice. How far of a commute is Bellevue? Is this a safe area? Is the drive between Bellevue & Franklin safe? Or would suggest staying in Franklin?

It would be worth staying in Franklin. Bellevue is sort you can't get there from here type place. You either have to take Old Hickory Blvd or Highway 96 both of which have stop lights and local traffic. No direct high way to get from Cool Springs to Bellevue.

With what you save on gas you can afford to pay more for an apt in Franklin or even look down towards Spring Hill

A lot of Bellevue residents do this, if you don't mind following the parade. Both Old Hickory & Harding Place are narrow 2 lane slow streets till you get to Hillsboro. It could be useable in the Maryland Farms area of Brentwood near Old Hickory & Franklin. The hills become impossible with any ice/snow.

This is one time to stay near Franklin. IMHO I'd only do this for a few months if it takes time to get into a development you really want. Apartments seem to be in tight supply this year.

Are there other areas to consider that would be more convenient to Franklin?

You can get some good deals at apartments in the Spring Hill or Antioch areas. Personally, I wouldn't mind the drive from Bellevue.

Don't know your price range if you want to check out other areas near Green Hills. some nice new condos/apartments. A great resource is the FYI book done by the Tennessean. You may get a copy via a good relo agent. There are always plenty of free local house hunting books.
