quote the Nashville newspaper:
Antioch on Saturday dug another hole in what is quickly becoming a graveyard for big-box retail stores....And down the road, at the Hickory Hollow Mall, Sears had a store-closing sale going on Saturday... Macy’s at the mall also closed earlier this year.

----------------------------------------

Electronic Express may want to leave the now almost empty mall and take one of the empty nearby free-standing buildings...the former HH Gregg or soon to be former Best Buy.

That part of town certainly is not what it used to be. (although people say the crime rate is much lower since the demise of the mall)

My husband works in this area. It is a shame that these big box retailers are pulling out. There is still a market there, although I guess these companies think otherwise.

Most of the big box stores are trying to increase profits by lowering costs which means the lower performing stores have to go. They are closing 50 stores. I don't think they are picking on Antioch . . . .

Still, it's sad. Everyone buys online these days. "Brick and Mortar" stores are expensive!
