Hi all,

coming to Nashville for a three day seminar next week.

Could you please let us know if there are any healthy restaurants in Nashville - Vegan would be OK as well (we are not Vegan but it is healthy and we like fruits and veggies).

Rainer

The Wild Cow restaurant is vegetarian/vegan (mostly vegan). Otherwise, there are plenty of places that serve salads and more healthy fare. Not everything is fried or BBQ. You just have to check the menus at each restaurant.

Wild Cow is the most obvious choice. Calypso Cafe is (or can be, if you order appropriately) a relatively healthy local chain. You can get good BBQ tofu sandwiches at Drifter's. One thing that a lot of folks forget about is that Jamaicaway (in the Farmer's Market) has lots of vegetarian goodies...Most are probably not very healthy aside from not being meat, though.

There are plenty of decent sushi places that serve healthy veggie rolls as well -- notably in my 'hood, Watanabi.

Healthy and Nashville is an oxymoron.

Genghis Grill in Franklin. Load up on veggies for stirfry. Add in the whitefish and hold the starches, yum.

The Silly Goose has great salads, couscous, and sandwiches.

Woodlands is a great vegetarian-only option.

AM@FM is a restaurant inside the Nashville farmer's market that sources many of its ingredients from the market itself.

For an upscale dinner, try Tayst, Nashville's 1st Green certified restaurant. They usually have a blackboard up listing where all of the meats and veggies came from that day.

For a somewhat healthy dessert check out the non-cream based options at Las Paletas.

And I second the recommendation of the wild cow!

Default thank you

Thank you all very much,

love the oxymoron comment.

I am sure we will have excellent food, even if we have to live on veggies only when we get back
