I can see we're going to have a have a friendly little chat with you, Isaiah. Nothing will get you disliked quicker than making " . . . will open up their eyes [to the way they should do it down there]" type of comment. Remember, most of us have either lived, went to school, or visited other places; we are not unaware of French cuisine or vegetarianism or Cajun cooking or Swedish fondues or many other ways of doing things (there's a good Turkish restaurant up the road from where I live). You'd be welcome to share your own ideas, but you might want to leave off the "editorial content". Just a friendly note to you.

There is a Whole Foods market here. And a World Market, which I'm told is similar to a TJ's.

Glad to hear there's a Whole Foods, etc. I think I left Nashville right about the time it was being built, now that I recall.

I think you need to back off there just a little, Alleycat. I was specifically referring to Southern food. So, nothing "editorial" about that: we all know they soak stuff in grease in the South. Pig grease is unhealthy; and there are other kinds of grease to use.

The editorial part was the "open up their eyes to other creative ways . . . " comment, as though somehow we didn't know any better, or were behind the times, or hadn't heard of things like Mediterranean cuisine. Personally, I'm still going to eat fried chicken and barbecue.

But . . . good luck with whatever you decide, and wherever you decide to move. I'm out.

I totally agree! A Whole Foods would be an excellent addition...

There's a Whole Foods. It's in Green Hills. Do you want a map?

The Whole Foods is in the Hill Center a few blocks south of the Mall at Green Hills. There was a Wild Oats right on Hillsboro Road for years which was closed when Whole Foods opened.

Nashville will probably get a TJ's soon enough and possibly with wine in the stores as Tennessee businesses are lobbying hard to allow wine in grocery stores.

We weren't "sparing" . . . we were "discussing".

If you want to see sparing, go over to the Yahoo stock investment forums. Calling someone's mother a bad name is considered a gentle greeting there.

;-)

Default We Did It!

Trader Joe's is coming to the former Wild Oats property in Green Hills. They are scheduled to open before Thanksgiving.
