I have been renting a condo from a real estate agent since July. I have had nothing but frustration with this person. When I moved in, I sent them a list of about 10 things that needed to be looked at or fixed. They replied back saying they didn't know about 3 of the things (didn't know how to work fireplace, where to store bikes, etc), they weren't going to fix the toilet or fan in the bathroom because it cost too much money and I don't pay water anyways so I shouldn't care about it. Recently they sent someone out for the air conditioning unit and they told the owner they needed to replace the thermostat and they said they don't want to do that right now because they don't want to pay for it. I have been trying to get a new sliding screen door since I moved in so I can actually open the door once it's not 100* out and they told me "oh mine doesn't work that well at my place either". I'm so sick of them not wanting to fix anything or put the time or money into making my place worth the crapload of rent I am paying them. I told them I wanted a new door or at least have it looked at because the deck is full of spiders and I don't want them coming inside and they tell me to go buy bug spray. I shouldn't have to purchase bug spray because they don't want to come out and look at something that is broken. Is there anything I can do? I didn't know since it is a condo and they are a real estate agent if I can try to go talk to someone else about it or if I'm just stuck suffering and being miserable until June?

I recommend calling their broker to put in a complaint first. I can't tell from your post how serious some of these things are, but there are slumlord laws that protect you. You may want to contact an attorney to get an opinion on that. I have seen this soooo many times with renting though. There seems to always be issues. Sorry you are going through that.
