Soooo I know this has been done about a million times but I would still welcome any advice. I will be moving to Nashville from Toledo in a month and have some questions about different parts of the city.

Here is what I am looking for:
-less then 20 min commute (I will work in Antioch, but have heard not to live there)
-I am single and young (23) so I would like to be close to night life, shopping and restaurants
-I will be living alone so I need something safe (I will also be traveling for work and it would be nice to not worry about my apt getting broken into)
-I want to live somewhere, where it will be easy to meet ppl (I know no one in Nashville)
-I would like to spend less then $600 a month on rent, but would spend more if some utilities were included

Also how does the driving, crime and overall feel of the city compare to Toledo??

For under $600 a month you may have to consider living in Antioch.

Yes, you're not going to find much for that amount.

Since you're from Ohio...do you play cards? Euchre in particular? We have a group of transplants and some native Nashvillians that get together for Euchre. I could send you some info about it or you could look on meetup.com

Good Luck!

the Royal Arms in Green Hills starts at $655 for a small 1br apparently. Over budget, but it's a very nice area and should be close to shopping and nightlife, and should be fairly convenient to antioch. There are options under $600, but you'll have much better options if you could stretch it just a little more.

the royal arms is past the mall, so if you go out hillsboro and turn left on harding you should be able to skip most of the green hills traffic. depending on where in antioch, it could be 20 minutes or less.

I would try The Trails apartments in the Donelson/Hermitage area. You can get a shoebox there for less than $600/month, but at least they are clean and in a safe area. Your commute will be a sub-twenty-minute straight shot down Bell Road to Antioch, but you don't have to deal with the Antioch riff-raff. You're also 10 miles of pure interstate from downtown.

As for meeting people in Nashville, I guess it wouldn't kill me to show a young single female around town. You game?

friends don't let friends move to hermitage... and I don't recommend it to complete strangers either for that matter

$600 was somewhat of a estimate..what would be a more reasonable price from something that would fit my needs?? I am most concerned about safety, I will be out of town most weekends from April to October for work so I want to be able to leave my car and apartment and not have to worry about them.
