Hey all,

My friend and I are trying to plan a 4 night get away to Myrtle Beach and I have no idea where to begin. I want a younger crowd (not retired section), a hotel that is on the beach, and preferrably somewhere that's close to clubs/restaurants and nice. We go on a long weekend vacation every year and usually go to Daytona Beach, FLA. However, we want to go somewhere new. I've always heard great things about Myrtle beach, so trying it out. Is North Myrtle Beach more of a young crowd? Please any suggestions/advice would be great!!

THANKS!

I would not say North Myrtle Beach is more of a young crowd. There are lots of fun places for young people, but the most utilized at least in my opinion for night life would be Broadway At the Beach. There is a row of bars/night clubs that you can hop around in... you can usually find something you like, including Fat Tuesdays or Senor Frogs. google it. it's a good time. I can't comment on where to stay because personally I have only stayed in two places ... one in cherry grove (NMB) it was called The Prince Resort and it was fabulous. they were like little apartments instead of hotel rooms. and then I lived for 3 months at Landmark Resort, which is 15 ave south in Myrtle. It was just OK, and it was cheap. i mean it was decent but the beds were hard, and since it was an extended living situation for me, i had to buy one of those feather bed covers.... but it depends on what you're looking for. not really sure it's the best area, but it's pretty close to anywhere you'd want to go in Myrtle, and it is ocean front as well.

One club I actually really like, and get made fun of cause im not quite "old enough" apparently... is 2001! i really love it there. It is kind of an older crowd I suppose, but in the club... i think they call it club touch or something... (there are 3 clubs in there... one is like a theme club i think which i was never open when i went, the other is a live band which is where the "older" crowd goes, and then the 'club club') well they played such good music of any place i really have been, and music is important to me. but again, it depends on what you're looking to do on your vacation.

Will you have a vehicle?

That's all really great info. I think we are going to stay at the Breakers Resort, do you know where that is, and is it close to Broadway? We will have a car, we are going to rent one.

Breakers is like a mile and a half from broadway, so that will fit you just fine if you're gonna check out the night life there. Broadway isn't just night life though, it's shopping and dining.

If you are into clubs, there is one right across from Broadway called Club Kryptonite. i went there about 3 times maybe... it's okay and a change from Broadway if you're sick of the same places, but since you're visiting, that probably won't happen Broadway is definitely the touristy spot.

if you have a vehicle, you can go exploring around, not like it's that big of a town to do that... but you'll have a good time im sure! Have fun

I have been going to Myrtle Beach since I was 18, I'm now 50 with a 19 y/o daughter I stayed at the Breakers several years ago and it was nice. It has several pools, jacuzzi's and central to things you might want to do. Broadway at the Beach is a fun place to go and nightclub row would be a fun night out. They used to have a thing where you pay one covercharge and you could go from club to club. There is a Planet Hollywood and a Hardrock, several eating establishments, as well as shopping. As one poster previously said "2001" in NMB was a favorite of mine from a long time back. Myrtle Beach is a fun place so you'll find alot of things to do there. Hope you and your friends have a great time. I'm planning a trip with my kids for late May or early June and can't wait to get there.
