That was (not was) quite surprising. Kim Basinger was also the dead girl in Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane", didn't know she could sing. And through the power of the internet, I see there's a version of this song with Madonna on vocals, she had auditioned for the song in the early 80s but would not allow its re-release in the 90s.
