Before there was Pat Benatar and Lita Ford and Joan Jett and Melissa Etheridge there was Suzi Quatro. One of her last rockers, from 1980, "Rock Hard".

Exitus and Sluggo, have either of you heard of this 80's/90's glam band before? Lead singer Carl Albert (tragically died in car crash 1995) sounds similar to Ronnie James Dio in this music video. FYI: this song is actually a 1991 release however it sounds classic 80's metal and so wasn't sure if you guys would've caught it in 90's thread.

I vaguely remember them on something, maybe Headbangers Ball around the late 80s, and wonder if they ever came down to the LA area, which was a couple hours from where I was stationed in the late 80s. There is a LOT of Dio in the voice, some Geoff Tate, too.

I remember Vicious Rumors. They were discussed on a metal forum called Perpetual Motion that I used to frequent in the '90s. I also remember mention of Albert's death.

Interesting. While you guys hear Dio and Tate, Carl's voice to me sounds like a 40/60 hybrid of Bruce Dickinson and Savatage's Jon Oliva (who has been compared to Dio in the past). This song, from their 1990 self-titled album, is perhaps a better example.

I was also going to mention Dickinson. Not as guttural as Coverdale, not as in-your-face as Halford, but not a clone of anyone, either.

After Rod Price left Foghat, they continued the New Wave sound. It never really caught on. "Wide Boy" from 1981.
