Most of the surviving members of Lynyrd Skynyrd reformed a band in 1980, but they didn't want to be a reboot of Skynyrd; they changed the sound a bit, removing some of the Southern Rock emphasis and hired a female lead vocalist. The result was Rossington-Collins Band, after the two surviving guitarists, and "Don't Misunderstand Me", from 1981.
