Just my personal recollection, two '80s albums that got a lot of love,.. Guns n Roses 'Appetite for Destruction', and Prince's 'Purple Rain'. Even 25-30 years later, I hear people talk about the personal impact of these two albums.
I also remember NIN 'Pretty Hate Machine' being a game-changer for some kids who were close to me. I think that was real late '80s. (good times)
With that said, 'Appetite..' was probably my favorite album of the '80s.. and as far as singles, I liked 'Big Country' by Big Country a lot.
