I've almost 100% love this, but a lot of people despise it, saying they've "ruined the song". Maybe it's because I'm used to artists remixing songs (my favorite type of music is electronic dance)

What about you?

Depends.......

In this case it's awesome..... CANNOT understand what metalheads hate about post Black Album Metallica. They left their former self in the dust as far as I'm concerned....... IMO, they wouldn't have lasted "thrashing"......

They added MORE guitar skills and musicianship than they ever needed before......

Proof of what I say is true is their return to a former self in the Album St. Anger. I thought it sucked and coincidentally is the ONLY album I don't like.....

I do love a good cover, especially if it's done by someone who's not all that well known yet....

Jimi Hendrix's cover of Bob Dylan's 'All Along the Watchtower' is a very popular cover of another's song. In fact, there are many songs Dylan has been covered on. You also have Dylan's 'Knocking on Heaven's Door' has been covered by a great many artists unknown and known. You had people like Peter Paul and Mary all the way up to U2 covering Dylan's songs and most people do not know he actually wrote these songs.

Here is the original acoustic version of Dylan singing 'All Along the Watchtower'

Dylan's original Knocking on Heaven's Door (best I could do in Youtube)

Karaoke Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan * - YouTube

This lists the recorded versions of it by other artists.

I also like the soundtrack to the movie, "I am Sam" which are all covers of Beatles tunes.

Eddie Vedder doing 'Hide Your Love Away"

Walflowers doing 'I'm Looking Through You' on the same album (doesn't surprise me it's Dylan's kid).

There's something about Bob and his song writing other musicians like. Even The Beatles "after" they met him. This is not a cover....it was inspired by him completely. The acoustic guitar and John making his best attempt to sing and sound like Dylan.....

I agree Bob Dylan was great but the Beatles were more influential on modern music than any other musician including Bob Dylan.
