I recall, after seeing this in the theater, how desperately I wanted the soundtrack only to learn that Vangelis had refused to have it released! Obviously, at some point, he relented~thank goodness!

I would have a difficult time choosing THE best score this man has written, but this is for one of my favorite films for the past 50 years: Bernard Herrmann's "Jason and the Argonauts
Tops! And for me I'll throw in Kubrick's 'Barry Lyndon'. Each work was magnifique for the film. Extraordinary selections!
