Some great tunes being posted thanks!!
I love oldies radio but there isn't an oldies station in my area anymore so I get my oldies from the web.
So many songs I have forgotten about.
One of the most educating thing about discovering older music throughout the ages was read a 600 page book on Bob Dylan. I came away from that learning more about other artists than I did Dylan in a way. Every single time they mentioned another artist I would go to the computer and look up their music. It definitely was a tedidous way to read a book, but it was well worth it.
In the Dylan book, someone was talking to him about foot pedals and all Dylan said was, "Will it make me sound like Buddy Guy?" I'd never heard of him and it was the only time he was mentioned in the whole book. I found his stuff and loved it.
Another example would be Robbie Robertson and his solo work, first finding out about The Band and then their back up for Dylan's first electric tour.
If you really want to find older good music, find a book on your favorite musicians and look at who their influences are and any collaborations they did.
