No faire (correct spelling of the event) is complete without "Banish Misfortune"! However, I think the second and third are truly Irish.

This was a complimentary remark=}

I've encountered the instrument at several events, the first being Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous in Indiana. I bought a casette of the man's music and still have it. The instrument started showing up more frequently, and they even had a hurdy gurdy player at Bristol Renaissance Faire! Instruments sort of spread, as did hammered dulcimers and bowed psalteries.
