Okay, I know I'm going to be ripped maybe two new butt holes, but (no pun intended) I'm just so annoyed and tired of artist/bands doing cover songs from artist they were inspired by or from a song they loved from a particular artist. For the most part, a lot of the cover songs I heard weren't bad and I enjoyed some a lot, from the top of my head, one of my favorite cover songs right now are Lacona Coil and Linkin Parks cover and remakes of Depeche's Mode "Enjoy The Silence" and Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nail's song "Hurt" (one of my favorite covers ever).
However, I just think cover songs have just hit an all time high. Every aspiring artist post a video of themselves doing a cover of some artist song's like Lady Gaga, Akon, whomever and whatever. Then of course, the artist of today want to "pay tribute" to their favorite song, blah, blah, blah. I know, I know, it's not an epidemic but it's just annoying watching every Youtube video of an aspiring song writer (wish them the best) do a cover instead of showing their own creativity and playing their OWN song. I don't watch much music videos or much music network channels or even listen to much mainstream radio nowadays, but if I do, then it seems like there's always a cover song of some kind. I can maybe understand the purpose of having cover songs for some up and coming artist, but I can't help but be annoyed it, it's just an annoying trend in music to me.
Then again, I don't know anything about music so who am I to talk, right? Anyway, sound off.

I agree. It seems that creativity these days is lacking.

I'll do it again in case you missed it. So far only 2 have this type of sound. Steve 80's and Jason today. It doesn't get any more unusual than this. More should copy it IMO!
I don't mind cover songs or tribute albums, but I am so sick of the tribute bands out there. I'd rather see the real thing.
I agree EXCEPT when the original artists just happen to be dead...LOL!
Seeing them then is kinda gross and creepy.
