I'm seeking some suggestions for the best Spanish language rock and pop music. I recently discovered Los Enanitos Verdes and think they're great. (I'm trying to talk the wife into going to see them in Mexico City next month.) That genre, plus any sorta of high quality pop. I like rock, hard rock, alternative, Jazz, saucy hot pop princesses of the JLo/Britney genre, and most definitely the divas like Gloria E and Sade. IOW, I'm looking for the greatest stars and songs of Rock En Espanol.
LOL that's old, like late 80's. The music used to be about social issues and very absurd subjects, but the movement changed and the new songs were all romantic and boring Los enanitos were romantic but they were one of the few that actually had good rhythms and deep lyrics.
some of my favorites, all lyrics are beyond hilarious. My favorite group was Prisioneros from Chile.
I had a girlfriend that listened to Frankie Ruiz and Eddie Santiago, but I believe that they're more in the salsa range.
Sting released an album of Spanish language pop music, Nada Como El Sol, but it's Sting, you know he doesn't rock very much (with the exception of Si Estamos Juntos). I also used to have `Exitos de Gloria Estefan, but again, that's more in the range of pop, not really rock.
Thanks to all for the suggestions. Reps points for all contributers - except Princess and Winter - sorry, CD won't let me give you any more rep points right now --- IOU....
