Cube was always dope. But Paris was the first rapper on the West Coast going really hard with the political raps. Cube didn't get on his political sh*t until Death Certificate dropped. I don't know. You would have to actually have lived in Cali, or even Down South or Mid-West, to appreciate or even understand a lot of West Coast music. The vibe of life is just that different. Our slang, in itself, is like a different language and there is no Rosetta stone available for that sh*t. The vast majority of our music doesn't get any bump on the East Coast and that ain't nothing new. Just like not all e'ryone in Cali feels everything outta the East Coast. The only reason I appreciate more East Coast music than the average fool from Cali is because I live on the East Coast. Hella people from the West Coast don't understand Nas and Wu-Tang rapping about Gods and Earths over beats with no bass outside in single digit windchill and three feet of snow wearing bubble coats.

Lakeview Frisco anthem about getting perved. I know you hate it. No VH1 exposure. Our music went Platinum in the ghetto, we could give a f*ck less about Y-T's in Idaho, ya know. Cellous is actually shouting out blocks on this track where I actually grew up at. Laughing at East Coast/Down South marks claiming streets in Cali (i.e. Piru is a real street in Cali mayne). Grape Street Crips in Jersey? Piru's in Baltimore? F8ck outta here.

You're right about the differences between the language and style of both coast! I lived in San Diego for 2 years. Man if I got a Penny for everytime people from SD and LA would diss East Coast rappers, I would be a Latin Bill Gates.

I like all Hip-Hop, but I do have favorite styles from all Regions.

Back in the day The Ghetto Boys were my favorite group when everybody else was liking Run-DMC and LL.
