Hi, I saw this movie 'Vincent: Life and death of Vincent Van Gogh' by Paul Cox some years ago but I never managed to note down the haunting soundtrack (I think Vivaldi's violin concerto was used partially). Does anyone know what I am talking about? What was that piece??
I did not get too far with Google.
You could try to ask a question at IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase).
(I tried posting the hyperlink, but it didn't work.)
I looked at IMDb (took a while to get it to work, cil) and didn't get much info regarding the soundtrack, but here is a link to more than a dozen reviews of the movie. Maybe one of them will provide the answers you are looking for. By the way, Roger Ebert's review, though very good, doesn't mention the film's music. So you won't have to read that one. Good Luck!
I'm doing a bit of Van Gogh searching around and somehow ended up with your post - I sought out that Vivaldi piece, its - Sonata a quatro "Al Santo Sepolcro" in E flat Major... Largo molto - hope you enjoy it
