I don't consider a lot of the postings on here "hippie music" either. But some bands that became popular in the Hippie Era of the 60's continued popularity into the next decade for awhile ~ like Hendrix, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, for example. Songs about social conscience were strong in the early-70's.

But, yeah, I've spotted a lot of songs that don't fit the category, some too late in the decade.
