He remade the first two original Halloween movies. His first attempt was a disappointment. I liked some elements of his version, but the dysfunctional family stuff was too over the top. Michael Myers was spookier in the original, when he came from a normal family, and for some unknown reason he became this evil entity. To me that version was way creepier than a victim of child abuse or neglect. I haven't seen the second one of his yet, but I'm not anticipating anything good. Most remakes are disappointments.
