i was just reading another thread about jet li's movies, and it got me thinking about one. his movie the forbidden kingdom, with jackie chan, pissed me off. i despise that movie.
i was really looking forward to some epic fights between these legends, and what did i get? crap.
It was apparently shot in a one 90 minute take, the Hermitage was closed for a day for it and though it was visually stunning and quite beautiful it was also insanely tedious ....
We watched it for 30 minutes, could take it no longer and started to stand up to walk out of the film and as we did so 2/3 of the audience followed us and we ended up in hysterics in the cinema lobby... It was actually quite a funny experience.

Saving Private Ryan-Great battle scenes; too much Spielberg-esh drama and sentimentality otherwise
I don't really hate it, I just think it got wayyy too much praise and was bizarre, long, and uninteresting. I know theres plenty worse movies, but that is the worst critically acclaimed one. The guy in it thats not Brad Pitt that had the other roll was actually very good though. The chick (marla?) wasn't bad either. Just didn't like the plot.
