Just watch this weekend the movie on HBO ''Unted 93'' about the 9/11 hijacked planes and thought it was a very good movie and fantastically directed. Thru out the movie especially the Control Towers and Norad scenes seemed more like a documentary and not a movie. I also liked that it had very little background music as it made it seem more realistic in a movie setting.

Anyway just my thoughts on a sad tragedy that happened and it made me really think that those Passengers and Flight Attendants who fought to take back the plane were incredible people that words are hard to descibe.......

I agree, it was excellent.

Most of those control-tower scenes were shot at the actual (real) locations, by the way; they weren't studio sets. And quite a few of the controllers, et cetera, were real FAA employees and military, not actors.

You did mean "United 93" and not "Flight 93", correct? Because "Flight 93" was a different movie that was made by one of the cable networks (I forget whether it was HBO or Showtime), and was never shown in theatres. "United 93" was the one that was a mainstream movie. I saw "Flight 93" also but IMHO it was not in the same class as "United 93".

Yes ''United 93'' as it just came out on HBO.

Thanks for the info on the Control Towers and Military scenes and the people being not actors as it was like a camera was actually at the real event. Even the actors in the plane scenes (passengers and hijackers) seemed real and not the typical theatrical dramatical acting that most movies have in them......

United 93 was a very well done movie. My hubby and I also watched it this weekend. It was nice to see a well done film without all of the big Hollywood names.

I pay $170 for cable (including Internet) and I rarely watch any of the premium channels. Thanks for letting us know it's running on HBO. I saw it, but hubby never did.

I did like United 93, but I thought Flight 93 was the better of the 2. I've not seen World Trade Center yet, but I'd imagine I'm going to like it, too.

I rented 'World Trade Center' but was somewhat disappointed; probably because I was expecting a WTC version of 'United 93'. In my opinion it isn't in the same class as "U93", although I always enjoy watching anything Nicholas Cage does.

100% agree- United 93 was very well done. I think it captured the essence of what most likely happened, the confusion by air control, the military, etc. I admit though, I waited a long time before watching it (it sat on my tv for about a week), but was very glad that I did. I think it captured the "rise to the occasion" of the American spirit.

Greengrass is a fine, fine director.
I rented United 93 but I have to admit I chickened out of watching it; I just couldn't face it. My son watched it and he said it was really good.
