A fascinating fact about this thread - it has been viewed more than a half million times, has over 12,000 responses, yet was started by a poster whose only post ever in all of CD was this one.
Last movie I watched was The Rainmaker with Matt Damon.

Saw "Beatriz at Dinner"--
Thought it was one of top 2 or 3 movies I have seen last 6 mo or so--ans we see lot of movies
I know some people might claim it was too preachy but thought it was believable because Hayek was so grounded in her role at Beatriz, a very spiritual woman, a believer in mysticism but also working to help sick people in hands-on way.
Hayek's own life in some ways mirrors the people she challenges---so it is an interesting internalization of her own social activism and access to wealth...
Connie Britton also very good as very wealthy woman who considers Beatriz to be her friend--until she becomes a threat.
John Lithgow's performance is one of the strongest drama turns I have seen from him since "Terms of Endearment"...
The director knew his business and the writer delivered a decent script---maybe not A+ but cohesive and filled with telling moments...
Alone Here 2016 A young woman struggles to survive on her own in the wake of a mysterious epidemic that has killed much of society, and forced her deep into the unforgiving wilderness.
A slow burn zombie movie. Don't go in expecting loads of zombies. It's a survival story.
