True, Bullet was my first thought, but someone else mentioned it. The French Connection came second as an all-time classic, considering they didn't have much in the way of special effects back then.

There's a car chase in the movie Jade although it's probably not what's remembered from the movie. Also, off the top of my head, Enemy of The State, Magnum Force, Mad Max, Duel and The Blues Brothers. Didn't Live Free or Die Hard have a car chase?
