The giant voice of the movie screen passed on today. Don La Fontaine the "In a world" guy from countless movie trailers and sound track voice overs died today. What a loss. I really liked him and had exchanged emails with him on numerous occasions. He was very personable and liked to talk about the interesting world of voice overs and the technologies driving the industry.
A Geico commercial featuring him rocketed his face into the limelight and out from the behind-the-scene world of voice over obscurity.
He will be sorely missed.

Default THAT familiar voice in the movie trailer, Don Lafountaine, fades away

He was only 63. He was the voice of thousands of movie trailers and hundreds of thousands of tv commercials. RIP

Here is an excellent 5 minute u-tube video done with him and his peers. I couldn't believe how many movie trailers he's done.

I was shocked. He is way too young!

Anyone know if he was a smoker?
