Is there any good reason to watch David Lynch’s “Blue Velvet” besides Dennis Hopper’s character’s musing about his favorite beer? Is the movie essentially an R-rated “Twin Peaks”?

I loved it when it first came out. I haven't seen it since.

It's not an easy film to watch, not unlike most films that explore the seedy side of life.

About the same. Saw it once or so when it came out, haven't gone back since. Two things must be remembered. First of all, back then, that's all we had. We rented tapes from the store.

Secondly.....never seen Twin Peaks. Looking at the TV schedules back then, I don't see a reason that I was watching something else. It may have been that I was doing something else on Thursday (on Saturday, I was watching DC 20's line up) or, possibly, I was then doing police work so watching it didn't interest me.

I love Blue Velvet and have watched it several times. I own the Blu-ray. It's too weird for many folks, however.

It's nothing like Twin Peaks, which I also love, and have also watched several times. I own the Blu-rays for all the episodes, including "The Return."

I'm a big David Lynch fan. Many people are not.

It's one of Lynch's best and more accessible (in terms of storyline) than most of his other movies.

I love that movie, though it's very dark. It's also very artsy.
