watched it for the first time. It was, interesting. Great performances from Ryder and Slater and some biting dark humor but the messaging feels a little muddled. I guess it's supposed to satirize peoples responses to suicide? But it feels almost too over the top. Also, it feels like a scene is missing. Ryder and the first Heather (who gets poisoned later) seem to be getting a long fine but in the party scene seem to be having a big fight? And the movie seems to completely forget that Veronica was an accessory to three murders and portrays her completely heroically in the end. Talk about leaving a bad taste. Still I definitely enjoyed this and would watch it again but it probably needed one more draft of the screenplay to rise to being a great film (which defines most 80s teen movies I'd say)

I love HEATHERS, despite its many faults. It's a movie that could never get made today.
Still, I can't help but feel that it was a bit of a rip-off (and improvement upon) MASSACRE AT CENTRAL HIGH ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massacre_at_Central_High ), which if you've never seen it, is a great bit of mid '70s fun. You can watch the trailer on youtube, but it looks like it's the R-rated version, so I'm not going to post it here.
I've heard it called a teenage love story.....with a body count. Be things as they may, as a lot of modern TV shows, many in a story can get away with murder.
I've seen it but I couldn't figure out what this movie was about and what it was trying to say. I also found the plot confusing as to how characters got from here, to there, certain decisions that they made, etc. So I couldn't get into it as much, unless I missed things.
