My take on this will not be appreciated by most, but here goes....

I saw the town as vibrant and lively without George Bailey. George was actually holding the town back. It is a horror movie in disguise.

It's cute, it's "feel good", and I suppose you can take away lessons about humanity, greed, and the goodness AND fallibility of all humans.

It was overly romantic for me, but everyone should see it at least once.
I find that odd mix of sentimentality ("Capracorn" as they sometimes call it) and darker themes in many of Frank Capra's films.

Here’s an article claiming that “Pottersville” was a fun place.

Wow. Obsessed with Ayn Rand much?

But it does bug me that the bad guy got away with it in the end.
Happens in real life all the time.

The movie is excellent. Definitely one of my favorites. And the themes are timeless.

Always in my rotation of must-watch Christmas movies each year. Just has a classic Christmas-feel to it, which is even more special nowadays because throughout the years, Christmas/the holidays gets more and more commercial and less personal (heck....I hardly even physically go into stores to get gifts anymore and fewer malls are around, so I don't even get to experience hustle/bustle feel and all the decorations I used to). So I appreciate movies like these.

I have this on rotation, along with: A Christmas Story, Christmas Carol, Home Alone, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Miracle on 34th Street (the original).

Gee, I hope you didn't this message. Everyone doesn't have to be a martyr. Did he sacrifice or did he choose between two options? Choice and sacrifice are two different things. We don't know the long story. Did he come to regret the "sacrifice?" Did he begin to resent his neighbors?

Life isn't as clean and simple like how it looks in the movies.
