The movie was beloved when it came out praised for blending a love story, a thriller, and even comedy with Whoopi Goldberg’s character and even left people in tears but some say the film doesn’t hold up being too cheesy and that Goldberg’s character actually ruins the movie making it too lighthearted. What do you think?
I think it holds up, but then again I haven't seen it lately. From memory I do believe it was a great film.
I didn't like it the first time I saw it. I found it to be cheesy and that's saying a lot because I cry at a drop of a hat & love tearjerkers. I was a crying mess watching Marley & Me. Good thing I watched it at home because everyone would've hated me if I was at a theater.
I think that it's ok for what it is. I certainly sort of over achieved, but it's decent watch. I don't think that it's great movie and was surprised by some of the praise at the time.
Was a Great Movie that show-cases Swayze and Moore on-screen Chemistry (which was very good).
STORYLINE
-Multi-faceted plot about couple just starting out and the pressures involved in keeping a relationship going and their appointment with Fate and the twists that death brings. The plot is about the after-life its message of hope as the impending draw of its appointment is even more realized after viewing this move. It won an Oscar for Screenplay.
ACTING
-Swayze and Moore delivered convincing work as newby live-in lovers in the beginning throws of their relationship. Apparently, they just moved into their first apartment and were looking forward to developing their young lifes. Goldberg won an Oscar as supporting actress (although brief) she was funny and added a humorous angle to the other-wise morose theme of the movie.
RATING
-the Movie received high ratings and is a crowd pleaser particularly to the Romantic Lovers with a sense of Vigilance. Watch it with someone you Love~
