Yeah, it really explains her uh, "attitude" in the sequel, lol hahah
Yep, that "attitude" eventually ruined T2 for me. Still love the beginning and early sequences, but will no longer watch it once her role becomes the center of attention and control. Might as well be watching a Hillary Clinton rant.
This falls under the category of "80s classic" and it's really the only movie in the franchise I'll make time for, but probably won't anymore. Just seen it too many times.
It was a better story when the Terminators were merely killer machines. The liquid metal and its capabilities are just...outlandish.
This movie and the entire series requires suspension of disbelief. It’s about machines becoming self-aware and making war on humans, and when they begin to lose the war they go back in time to kill the leader of the Revolution. I don’t know, to me believing in liquid metal being able to shape shift into stabbing weapons seems okay considering all the other ideas we have to believe.

No, really? AI doesn't tax my s.o.d. This franchise isn't a series of CBMs. A puddle of goop reconstituting itself into an authentically humanoid form, all the way down to the grey hairs in the impostor's nose, is bleepin' supernatural. You're okay with pointy edges? How about a waxed floor with a checkerboard pattern?
If Martian Manhunter is the shape-shifter, that's different.
I was about 6 when this came out, probably saw it for the first time a couple years after. It was mind blowing, especially the eye scene.
Watched it last night for the first time in many, many years. Still held up well, overall. The only truly bad parts are the machine at the end.
So younger people, like under 25 or so...what do you think of this movie and how old were you when you first saw it? Does it still hold up to you?
I'm kind of puzzled about asking people under 25 if a movie holds up. That's what you usually ask people over 40. How can they know if it holds up if they didn't see it when it was new?

I thought it was cleverly done. It’s certainly no more difficult to believe than time travel or machines taking over the world.
