I haven't seen this movie yet (will soon). We know how this ends what do people think of this being played out on screen? It's a biopic but how's the dialogue, the chemistry etc. Even though this is centered around the BPP, ones who are interested in history should know that this isn't AA Xenophobic hit piece but is something that all groups should be aware of.
I'll have more input on it later. Has anyone viewed it yet and what are your thoughts?
I just saw it yesterday and I thought it was really good and thought provoking. Reading about these things like COINTELPRO was interesting but to even see the events unfold left me filling a little dizzy at the end and my mind racing....I can only imagine how those in that time felt about what was going on.
I've been on the C-D Saw Trap known as Politics and Controversies and I think people over there need to check the movie out (most of them would relate to the Young Patriots).
I saw the movie on HBO Max the other weekend with my SO. Both of us thought that the film had good actors and that the storyline presented a good history lesson, but that it was not the most entertaining movie (not by a long shot) that we have seen.

I agree on the history lesson part. Stanfield's portrayal of William O'Neal was pretty good but he did overact in some scenes (but then again, the real O'Neal was acting so that's his open interpretation). Kind of surprised they showed things for what they were regarding the CPD and FBI mainly.
I saw it, and, as DJM597 said, it's a good history lesson. However, I don't think it's that great as a movie, in terms of delving into the characters or having a clear storyline. But the subject is worth it. I didn't know about this, and I'm sure most others don't either. And I'm glad I saw it.
We started watching twice, just couldn't get into it!
