Payback

Mediocre crime flick with good photography, fancy toys, lots of big busted braless women, and ultra violence that manages to bring it all together in the last 20 minutes. A 3.0.

Watched LightYear yesterday. No more LGBTetc signaling than Downington or Dr Strange, only minor part of one scene. But it is a kid's movie so the bar is higher for what offends people. Overall it was an OK but not great movie. Evan's Buzz isn't half as funny as Tim Allen's. Most of his jokes are 1996 retreads from Toy Story 1. In terms of plot etc this was far less interesting than Sing 2.

Depressing but excellent
Haddish can act…nice to see her in part that doesn’t call for stupid
I saw this a few nights ago. Oscar Issac is always excellent, as was Tiffiny Haddish, but this film moved slowly and the card playing was an afterthought. I suppose that was the idea, but it was a bit slow for me.

The Amazing Mr. Blunden
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068200/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

A pretty pleasant family film (but it helps if you push the reality of mistreated step children out of your mind). I found this flick sitting around the house, wondering why I picked it up.....it was bought in a (late) Lynne Frederick buying spree.....though I didn't recognize her in the flick till the end credits.....nor did I recognize Madeline Smith. Did recognize Graham Cowden....all that Dr. Who....but didn't recognize Eric Chitty....and I had James Villers confused for Maxwell Shaw. Still, lots of familiar faces when one goes through the credits. An 8.0.

Banacek: To Steal a King
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0518373/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Decent mystery movie but probably could be better if one didn't know how a "Banacek" worked. That is, how they did the impossible crime is almost always a Magician's trick and once you start thinking that way, like the Magician who made a Soviet tank disappear, one is at least on the right track to figuring it out. Ahh, the early 70s and mini skirts! A 7.5.

"Jerry and Marge Go Large "

Thought it was a very entertaining, feel good kind of movie, based on a true story. It also had a great tie in to a Northern town here in Michigan.

Watched the new Jurassic movie. I liked seeing all of the characters from the other movies come together.

Going to see Elvis this weekend. It looks SO good!
