Surprised there's not a thread on this already with so many Emilia Clarke fanboys and fangirls.

I enjoyed it. I've been sort of craving a feel good romcom (though this one has a sort of dramatic twist). Has anyone else noticed that there's been a significant drop in romcoms? I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but it's nice to have some balance to all the superhero movies and 47 Fast and Furious sequels.

I wanted more of Santa and her beau. LOL!

Emilia Clarke is utterly adorable. But I have no problem waiting for the DVD on this one.

Does this movie have a CGI George Michaels? If not, I'm not watching it.

No CGI George Michael (no "s" at the end of Michael). But it does feature a lot of his music, including some lesser known songs.

Watched this on HBO last night. It ranged from "meh" to "ouch."

The actors are not the problem. Emilia Clarke is great and adorably charming. The leading man is good. Michelle Yeoh is always awesome. Emma Thompson is hilarious. All the secondary cast are great.

But the script just isn't very good. Paper-thin implausible characters. The plot twist utterly fails to be moving because it is so contrived and eyeroll worthy.

There probably is a good movie in here somewhere. But the script needed another draft or three.

Agreed. Its a 6/10 for me.

An enjoyable time-passer, but I won't be watching it every Christmas.
