Tremendous movie, in my opinion it's Christmas Vacation meets Labyrinth. Not necessarily scary and not quite 100% what I was expecting but a great movie nonetheless. It will surely be in my Holiday rotation for years to come, I can't wait to purchase it on Bluray!

For others that have seen it, what did you think?

I saw it last night and thought it was good. It reminded me of a cross between Gremlins, Christmas Vacation, and Labyrinth.

I'm interested, but the PG-13 rating bothers me. I don't like "PG-13 horror." The multiple references to Christmas Vacation and Labyrinth also bother me.

The trailer was certainly misleading as far as the tone/mood of the movie. But I did enjoy it; it did have a very "Gremlins" vibe. Not really horror and very cartoony at times

In a way I wish it had an R rating attached to it, we would have gotten something much darker like Trick r Treat. The PG13 rating doesn't hurt it though, and at least you can take your younger slightly preeteen kids to it. We will all be watching around the Christmas tree next year. If you want a dark Christmas movie then the remake of Black Christmas will work just fine.

Now I am convinced it's a missed opportunity.

Pass. I'll stick with the original.

I liked the movie. I had never heard of the character in my life & thought it was just a scary Christmas movie right before I saw it. When I got home & looked it up, I read that Krampus is known in Austrian-Bavarian folklore aka the Christmas devil as a character who deals with bad children. Interesting what other cultures "celebrate" or practice.

In my opinion, it's a Christmas version of a combo of The Great Outdoors (with the obnoxious, a-hole visiting relatives) & Gremlins. It got a bit cheesy right before the very end.

I was hoping for a more scary Christmas thriller but this doesn't sound like it and the trailer looks like it will be fairly mild. I do like the setting and feel the trailer gives. We plan to go and see this in theater later this week.

I hope the creatures aren't to silly.
