Sure, we could do what some here have suggested, come in later. But I like the trailers, too. Last time I saw a movie was two weeks (The Age of Adelaide -- good movie b/t/w). I believe we sat through 20+ minutes of "crap."
And what really gets me...... my friend and I and two other people were the only ones attending. How do they afford to stay open?
Theater owners get money from this as did they with the old slide shows promoting local business and you can promote here ads that existed long ago. Don't think many people complained about those excerpt fit maybe how cheesy they look.

Now some of you might say then don't go so early. Sometimes you don't have a choice do to weather, tired of standing. I don't go very often these days unless it's something that I want to see. Anyone else have issues with this?
About the "girls shaving their legs" singing...someone somewhere thought the same audience for The Furious Seven would be their audience, too. Let that sink in for a minute.

If I am not mistaken, most first looks are packaged for the same film rating, NOT genre. Say you'll get different ones for G and PG movies than you would for Pg-13 or R.
