The actress portraying Old Dottie was Lynn Cartwright who passed away in 2004 at the age of 77, She was 65 when she appeared in League.
She managed an acting career from 1955 to 1992 (League was her last role) without gaining any fame. A number of her credits are nameless characters like "Waitress" or "Reporter", there is "Inmate # 1" which was a credit for the tv series "Dynasty", as well as "Nazi B-t-h"" for the 1978 film "The Lucifer Complex." I tracked down her picture from that last flick. She was 51 when this was made. Not bad for 51.
Thank you so much for that! I am saddened now. A League of their Own came out during a really good time in my life, and it brings back great memories. RIP, Ms. Cartwright.
Has to be Major League. I'll watch it whenever it is on, even when its regular TV with commercials. I still get hyped during the last sequence when Willie Mays Hays steals home.
