Nightcrawler. Unexpectedly interesting and suspenseful.

There are a few I have not seen yet. At this moment though, my #1 is Birdman.

Inherent Vice
Foxcatcher
Leviathan
Two Days, One Night
American Sniper

Should have mentioned this - have not seen it. January 2015 - Netflix gets the dvd.

I'm all over Richard Linklater, having seen his before trilogy in preparation for Boyhood.

There's still too much left to come out yet for me to pick a best of for the year, but from what I've seen this year my top 5 would be (in no particular order):
- Birdman
- Borgman
- Life Itself
- Under the Skin
- The Lego Movie

Honorable mention would go to:
- Calvary
- The Edge of Tomorrow
- Frank
- Jodorowsky's Dune
- Nightcrawler

I recognize that Boyhood was a remarkable technical and directorial accomplishment. I just felt that as a movie-watching experience, it was good but not overly compelling.

Captain America: Winter Soldier but I never got to see Gone Girl, Birdman, Inherent Vice, Foxcatcher, Imitation Game, Mockingjay, etc. Chef was pretty good but didn't capture my imagination and attention like Captain America did. Such a thought provoking blockbuster spy movie.
