Meh. I think I may be the one Stephen King fan on Earth who honestly didn't like IT very much. Tim Curry was great in the original miniseries, but the rest was still pretty meh.

I'm pretty ambivalent about it also. There is always the slim chance of a film like Kubrick's The Shining, which to me, is always the hope.

Cary Fukunaga did direct HBO's True Detective (I have not seen it). Netflix dvd does have the 3 discs (2-3 episodes per disc) of season 1. I'll check it out one day.

TRUE DETECTIVE had a brilliant premiere episode, then quickly turned into a fairly uninteresting police procedural. All style. Little substance. I don't understand the accolades heaped upon it. I think it was trying to be BREAKING BAD, but felt more like a really grim and depressing LAW & ORDER. A for effort. C- for execution.

I'm excited about this. My family and I enjoyed IT very much, and actually rewatched the DVD just a few weeks ago. I loved True Detective, and have very high hopes for this remake.
