I enjoyed the reboot.. I planning on re-watching Part 2 and 3.
Yeah... 2 was great. I loved the ending... "Jason! Mother is talking to you!"
A set of the old school 3-D glasses was included in the box set and I want to watch it in 3-D to see the effects.

That was VII, the last non-cheesy one IMHO. It was supposed to be Freddy vs Jason but that ended up delayed another 15 years so they made "Carrie vs Jason" instead.
Jason probably looked the coolest in that one... with his spinal column and ribcage visible after the extended stay at the bottom of the lake.

i thought they were bad BUT i never miss a chance to rewatch them.. it just very nostalgic for me, as i loved the 80s slasher boogeymen (michael, freddy and jason)
The first Friday the 13th is a great horror flick. The second was a fun sequel. After that, they just increasingly stupid.
The thing about the early "slasher" flicks of the late '70s and early '80s: The killer was an actual bad guy. The teenage victims (or whoever) may have had their faults, but you didn't want them dead. You didn't root for the killer. That all changed in the mid-80s when Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, etc. became weird pop culture anti-heroes. People no longer watched, hoping the heroine would get away and the killer would get fried. They started going to cheer for the killer. There's something more than a little icky and disturbing about that.

I agree. And these slashers all had different forms and their main motive was revenge usually, For an either perceived or actual wrongdoing. The Burning, The Prowler, Madman and My Bloody valentine come to mind with this post.
My favorite is the first one. Not because of who the killer is but because I love the film quality & the shoot location.
