Watched this movie as a Redbox rental; I believe it may have been a straight to video film.
I thought it was OK; I didn't regret watching it, but didn't believe it was memorable in any way. That is, except for the violence, blood & gore, but that's true to life for medieval soldiers hacking at each other with huge swords, or being hit with an arrow, or crossbow bolt. Not pretty!
I would give three out of five stars.

It is good for the genre... There really aren't much offerings for those who dig the medieval knight type stories....
It was out for a week at our local hard luck cinema and I thought it had promise. There are only so many scenes you can watch of Paul Giamatti grimacing and stomping around in the mud before it becomes humorous rather than menacing. I thought Kate Mara was a poor choice for her character, and after about 45 minutes I had to refrain from shouting "Just go around the freaking castle!" at the screen.
I saw it this evening. Not too bad, but not great.
