I was wondering if anyone uses a scooter to commute? I would love to know if they are really doable in today's world. I have been reading up on them and it seems that some will go as fast as 65 mph and get up to 65 mpg. Yet, I don't see many on the road?

Scooters vary in size from 49cc up to 650cc (Honda and Piaggio are rumored to be working on models that will go up to 900cc. wow ).
Your choice will depend on what kind of commuting you plan to do. For a female perspective on scootin' check this board Scooter Diva

Some over 125 mph and some well over 100mpg.....BUNCHES of them on the road around here.Stay away from the Chinese ones and you will be happier.
I have a 250cc Vespa that I routinely ride at 70mph. It tops out around 85 mph. I ride it to work often, saving a lot of money on gas as well as mileage on the car. Besides that, the most fun part of my day is riding to and home from work.
