Must be some serious fun, I had a chance to ride a Ninja ZX10R once during demo days, thing could be on the freeway in 1st gear!
I couldn't believe how hard this bike pulled in 5th gear at low speeds. I was in a lot of traffic for a while coming back home the other night. As long as traffic was moving I hardly had to shift.
I had a Kawasaki Concours 1400. I know, I know its not the same thing. But its quite the experience to have 120 +/- HP at the rear wheel.
When I was young it was a challenge to get over a 100 mph, now the challenge is staying under a 100
Be safe.
No joke - the R1000 pulls like a freight train from 1st on up. I went to the 1000 when my 600 was stolen at the beginning of summer. Liked the seat feel of the 1000 better and was ready to upgrade. Was a debate between the 750 and the 1000, dealer gave me a deal on the 1000 since they still didn't have any 750's.
That's way way to much bike for me personally. I can barely manage my lil' R6.
Congratulations though!! I think these bikes will do over 200mph if you take the governor off and put a smaller sprocket on the back. They're supposed to be pretty comfortable too.
Nice score. Remember that the throttle works both ways I always wanted one but I know how much trouble I would get in, having owned an FZ1 that was insane.

Had a 2003 FZ1 that I used for sport touring. Handled very well in the twisties and went much faster than I really needed it to.
