Increasing numbers of women are riding motorcycles, according to a study by the trade group Motorcycle Industry Council.

And -- are you listening, dealers and manufacturers? -- they're younger, better educated and better trained to ride than their male counterparts.

likely, we'll see more motorcycle and scooter riders due to the high cost of car purchasing and maintenance for the low paid millennials who need to get to work and school.

I think its the, its the way lots of women think now. I dont need a guy to do this. I can do this myself. Ever notice, in the past ten years or so, lots of women driving 4x4's and Jeep CJ5's now. Years ago you would never see this. Read into this whatever you like.

This doesn't surprise me. I've noticed quite a few more females at the trackdays that I attend. I'm still waiting for a woman to be talented enough to make it into the MotoGP ranks. I think Elena Myers is currently the only rider at the American superbike level.

Yep. I'd say female participation at the events I go to is around 5-10% now. Used to be maybe one or two girls total.

When running track days/schools back in the 2000's, we always enjoyed female students. By about a 90/10 margin they listened better, took input better, and had a faster learning curve than most men. Used to have a few female instructors on 600's that we'd send out to humble some guys who showed up on literbikes with big egos.
