Old people are bad drivers, period. Of all the times I’ve had to avoid getting killed, it’s an old person pulling out in front of me from an intersection/driveway/lane, not looking. I just accept that they probably need their license pulled and I drive extra cautious around them. No big deal. Makes riding extra fun.

Maybe when drivers can do a better job looking out for motorcycles, they won't feel the need to do things like install loud pipes.

I no longer ride because I had several very close calls of people merging directly into my line as I was parallel with them. It was insane.

If they can't see several hundred pounds of metal, what reason is there to believe they'll hear loud pipes?

If you're going to rely on noise to keep you safe, make sure your health insurance is paid up

Most of the times I've had to avoid disaster it's been due to those who think they can text and/or yap away on the phone and still pay attention to the road, and those allegedly bad old drivers are a small percentage of that group from what I've seen.

I say we just take the South Park approach to loud motorcycles. Start a shaming campaign that makes driving them seen as uncool.

Loud motorcycles are a public nuisance. It disturbs sleep, people's peace, and doesn't save lives. It's the same as loud cars/trucks/trains.

They seem to be deliberately looking for an antagonistic reaction. Not sure shame works.
