Finally! I got up the energy to move some snow out of the way so that I could take my bike out for the first ride of the season.

A little bit cold (mid 30's) but a blue sky and not much traffic.

The season is coming and it is great to be back on two wheels.

Not here. 20s and very windy with snow, sand, and calcium chloride everywhere. Maybe later next month after some warm days and cleansing rains.

Just got done with my 2nd trackday of the year thus far this past Saturday, and have a weekend at Spring Mountain planned in two weeks. Ah, to live in sunny SoCal!

I guess that signals that the end of my riding season is fast approaching. I just can't tolerate temps above 90 anymore, not that I ever did a very good job with it when I was younger. But the 50's and 60's we get all winter long here in GA are Perfect riding weather for me. As a plus, I don't have to be annoyed by roving packs of loud-pipe enthusiasts, all the road-side attractions and vistas/views are empty, sporting roads are vacant and locals have gotten over their anger of the loud-pipe, matching black leather costumed riders so they tend to be friendly and talkitive.

And I ought to get my advertising out for carb cleaning and spring servicing. I'm gonna be swamped with business with no time for riding in a couple months anyway (doG bless morons who don't do ANY preventative maintenance and pay me to fix things for them!)

I rode all weekend:

Ortega Highway 15 and 5
Sunrise Highway
Highway 94.

It was cold though today, probably in the low 60s. Yes Socal can be difficult at times.

Sunrise has to be a bit colder than 60 right now. Still one of my favorite stretches of road, though. Second only to Montezuma.

I probably won't start riding here in VA until next month. Too much salt/calcium on the roads and it keeps randomly snowing here haha. I usually try to wait for at least one good, driving rain to wash off the roads before I start riding again. I'll probably start doing the prep work on it the next warm day I get, I desperately need to wash it and clean the chain.

I officially hate you.

I'm kidding.

Here in NH seacoast:

2 weekends ago we got 30 inchese
last weekend we got something like 6-8
now they are telling us next weekend we are going to get to 10/12 wet inches

I am visiting my bike on Saturday at storage to check up on it. Best i can do.

Where are you located? When do you normally start riding on an almost daily basis? I'm hoping for end of March.... last year we hardly had an snow.. this year is nuts.

Normally, around here we start to ride around mid March. Some years later, some years we can almost ride year round.

BTW, "around here" is northern Utah, about 50 miles south or Idaho. Of course, just because we can ride does not mean we should. Those 20+ degree days tend to discourage us.

You're going to love that track. Very fast and flowing. Not much runnoff though so be careful.

P.S. World Superbike starts this weekend at the Philip Island circuit. Woohooo .
