Am watching American Restoration and they're restoring a 1967 Harley moped originally built by an Italian company. Guy who brought it in said it was his wife's and she rode it when it was new. He's having it restored for her as a gift.
Haven't seen that, but a buddy of mine in College had a Harley Davidson scooter that he found in his uncles barn. Was a genuine scooter, believe a "Topper" was the name of it.
We were working in an aircraft maintenance hanger at the time, when he pulled his truck in and unloaded the old scooter. Spent a lot of time taking surface rust off old parts, and removing the seized up engine, then doing everything he could to disassemble the motor and clean things up with the hopes of it eventually running. Never saw how (or if) the project finished up, but it would have been a neat piece of history to have...although i don't know how excited i'd have been to ride it. lol.

I've got the same scooter in roughly the same condition as the one in the show. Haven't had it out of the garage in 30 years. It was real fast for it's size.
